As we approach the end of our 2nd week in the 2021 lockdown and a massive 9-months since our Covid journey began … we thought it the right time to catch up with another member of our team at Plum Personnel.
A mother to 2 ‘gorgeous sons’, she is a long-standing ‘Plumette’ and a key Recruitment Partner in the Permanent Division with over 25-years’ experience in recruiting senior and specialist professional roles.
She can truly be described as a consummate professional in her field of expertise and takes immense pride in knowing she has helped changed people’s lives in finding them the ‘perfect’ role.
Caroline is a natural communicator and has both charm and enthusiasm.
Over the last few months Caroline has stayed true to her mantra of ‘I’m busy!’ and no door, wall, cupboard, fence, shed has escaped a new coat of paint!
A great lover of the outdoors – you may see her running or walking around the lanes of Dorridge or Lapworth and if not – you’ll find her baking cakes.
Caroline has an e-x-t-r-e-m-e-l-y varied taste in music. From soul, to pop to rock listing her favourite bands as Kasabian, Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, Florence and the Machines. She also enjoys listening to the old-time favourites such as Luther Vandross and Carpenters.
Whilst in lockdown Caroline has been lusting after hiring a campervan to explore Scotland – and perhaps tour Europe which reflects her "go where it takes you" view of life. She may even look to get the dog she has always wanted but never had!
We managed to get Caroline to sit still for a short time and posed a few questions to help you get to know her better.
Hope you’ll enjoy!
What made you choose recruitment as a career choice? After a successful career in the financial world I took a step back and analysed what my qualities were and what sort of role would make me want to bounce into work each day. I decided recruitment was the perfect choice for me!
Where did your career in recruitment start? Working for Pertemps … helping set up the British Gas Account managing 700+ temporary workers!
What do you love about recruitment? Simple … it’s about making a difference - especially the buzz of helping people believe in themselves and guide them to a new role or career choice. Nothing beats it!
Where else have you worked? My background is diverse (I’ve worked in local government, financial services and I’m FPC qualified. I’ve also worked in retail, finance, sales, training, admin, reception and credit control. This gives me a true understanding of the needs of our clients, their roles and the skills and abilities they’re seeking when recruiting for a new role.
Tell us about your photograph Happy times pre-Covid at my happy place in the South of France (although this photo was my friend and I on a road trip over the border to Italy for the market and Xmas shopping) with beautiful Italian coffee and pasta thrown in! Note to self to brush up on Italian as trying to ask for directions to the nearest car park was ...well a disaster.
What takes you back in time? Cheesy potato pie, liver and onions, warm school milk in a bottle,
Savoury or sweet? Sweet every time especially my mum's homemade apple and rhubarb crumble with custard.
Proudest moment? The joy of announcing my pregnancies resulting in my 2 gorgeous boys.
