MEET THE TEAM AT PLUM PERSONNEL - JOANNE JENKINS, FREC CertRP As we pass the first anniversary of the start of lockdown and now with a roadmap setting out the future direction of travel, we have taken the chance to catch up with Joanne Jenkins. Jo joined the team in February 2020 as a key member of the Permanent Recruitment Division at Plum Personnel. A genuine recruitment professional and a devoted mum of 3 she is also a true family person.
With more than 20-years' working in the recruitment sector, Jo has a wealth, breadth and depth of knowledge and experience across key areas of business particularly professionals in Finance, Accounts and those working in Management. Jo is easily described as outgoing, gregarious and has a positive attitude. This is instantly recognisable and has been demonstrated by her enthusiasm and willingness to participate. She is also very well organised and can easily apply herself to a variety of tasks. Jo is the most recent member to join the Plum team and has rapidly become a tremendous asset and is both very well-respected and liked by clients, work-seekers and her colleagues alike. Friendly, sincere, outgoing, social and persuasive are just some of the words that come to mind when describing Jo who is also very considerate of others. We are all looking forward to being together again at Plum Towers once again and are pleased we have managed to catch up with Jo to find out more about her, get to know her better and what makes her tick. Favorite quote: "If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything." Mark Twain What books are you reading? Recently joined a book club and just finished reading 'My Second Life' by Faye Bird. What did lockdown look like for you? Home-schooling my three children has been a challenge and taken up most of my time, patience and sanity! I also did what many UK households did and decorated my home. What are your greatest achievement when you look back on lockdown? Volunteering! I started volunteering for my local parish council to help people in need in my village. More recently I have started voluntary work as a Teaching Assistant at my children’s school. Taking the first steps towards this pushed me out of my comfort zone - I am so pleased that I did. It is immensely rewarding and I'm already learning a great deal. What do you do at Plum Personnel? I support local organisations in Solihull and the surrounding areas in helping them find the best talent to drive their business forward. I'm working with HR professionals, Managers and Business Leaders across sectors to help them with succession planning. Quite simply I build talent pools of experienced people particularly at management level who will have a positive impact on the future success of local organisations What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position? I have more than 2 decades of recruitment experience. During the last year I achieved my Level 3 Certificate in Recruitment Practice which I am immensely proud to have achieved. I know it gives clients and candidates alike reassurance they are in safe, professional and capable hands. What do you like about working at Plum Personnel? We share the same values and purpose. Like me the entire team care and are passionate about delivering the best service they can. What drives you? Feeling as though I have made a difference and that what I do helps me to provide a happy secure life for my family. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Holidays, decorating (was a hobby before Covid), making gifts, learning new skills, binge watching box sets with my husband and spending as much time as we can as a family. As you can see I like to keep busy!
