With the vaccination programme ahead of target across Birmingham and Solihull, Spring just around the corner and the potential end of the current lockdown - it’s the perfect time to catch up with another key member of the team at Plum Personnel. Claire Horton is a true recruitment professional and a real family person. A great mum and a devoted grandmother she has over 30-years’ experience in recruitment. Her talent is spotting talent - it shines through. In a nutshell, Claire believes in creating and maintaining relationships. Friendly, social, affable, persuasive, modest are just a few of the words used to describe her. She's is someone who loves to ask "why" and "how" to really get to know those seeking work and what’s involved in a job. Getting the ‘right fit’ for both clients and individuals is the ultimate goal for Claire – and she does it so well! Claire has a real ability to make others feel good. She’s a great communicator and without doubt a true listener who has an ability to build trust in others. A very popular and well-liked member of the close team at Plum, she is totally unpretentious. Claire is a genuine fun person to be around. If she wasn’t in recruitment – we know she would spend her time rescuing animals – so setting up an animal sanctuary would be her greatest dream. Taking a break whilst recovering from Covid-19, we managed to catch up with Claire and ask her some questions to get to know her even better! What’s one of your favourite memories from the past year? Having my granddaughter, she has brought a lot of joy into my life. What’s something you saw recently that made you smile? I have recently got a kitten (called Binx) he makes me smile everyday with his antics. What’s your guilty pleasure? Since having Covid my guilty pleasure of alcohol has disappeared! Any opportunity for a drink and I was there! I need to find another guilty pleasure! When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I always wanted to be a nurse, something I often regret not pursuing. What three words would your friends use to describe you? Unforgettable (possibly not in a good way), bubbly (always like to have fun), down to earth. If you could choose a superpower, what would it be? Anything that would give me a good memory (mine is shocking at times) If you could only eat one item for every meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Pasta every time! What’s your go-to karaoke song? Jolene (the neighbours loved my rendition in the garden). Which season is your favourite? Autumn (not one for the heat).
