We are seeking a very special person….a qualified and experienced HR Manager, to work with a charity that delivers a wide range of specialist services to deaf and hard of hearing people on behalf of Sandwell Council.

Ultimately, we are looking for someone who is prepared to submerse themselves in the culture and be prepared to learn sign language (BSL) to a reasonable level, as a good many people working for the charity are deaf. Full training facilities are available for this.

We are seeking a proactive individual and reporting to the CEO your role will involve:

*Providing a proactive HR Service across the organization, delivering the HR strategy and initiatives.
*Covering Employee Relations, Recruitment & Selection and Performance Management
*Reviewing policies, processes and procedures as well as leading the recruitment strategy and ensuring robust vetting services.
*Providing support and advice to all line managers and acting as a point of escalation for complex cases.

The ideal person will be able to demonstrate:

*A solid track record in HR as well as leading on sometimes complex employee issues and change management
*A great understanding of employment legislation and the ability to advise and guide on the application
*Previous experience of working within a charity or voluntary organization and an understanding of disability would be hugely beneficial.
