Reporting to the Finance Manager, with full responsibility for the company's sales ledger, worth over £6 million UK and £750k in Ireland. Working within a small but fun and friendly team you will be working from a backlog:
MAIN DUTIES

Receivables

Responsible for making sure all payments are sent to bank and posted correctly onto system.
Chasing all debts in UK and Ireland in a direct and firm but approachable manner. Responsible for managing credit limits using both Credit safe and COFACE.
Opening new accounts, after carrying out appropriate checks.
Providing reporting on receivables, focusing on problem accounts.
Control of order releasing for accounts which are over credit limit or on stop.
Liaise with credit management agency/COFACE when all internal routes of collection have been exhausted.
Managing proforma accounts.
Liaising closely with Customer Services to resolve queries.
Visiting Customer where necessary to resolve problem debts


Miscellaneous

Answering Accounts telephone line.
Providing monthly information to group on any large claims or potential bad debts
Cash Flow Forecasting
Managing reduction in cash settlement discount
Reconciling CLIENT Store and credit card payments

PROFILE

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

*Significant sales ledger and credit control experience
* Preferable experience of managing sales ledgers of foreign entities
* Knowledge of EU VAT regulations
* A keen eye for detail
* Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
* A good problem solver
* Self-motivating

A minimum of 5 years previous experience of credit control experience. ICM part/fully qualified preferable. A B to B background is a requirement. Need to be able to be strategic but also have a hands on approach to credit control.

Must have

* Knowledge of Excel
* Professional in approach when dealing with customers and issues
* Strong organisational skills
* Good communications kills
* Driven
